Pawzdownsuits was founded in 2019, and it is based on the East Coast.
Creating fursuits has been something I have wanted to do since I was little, maybe 9 or so. When I first started to get into the furry fandom around the end of 2018, I started with Jurassic Park masks from Target and Wal-Mart, trying to collect things to create my first fursuit(s). I was inspired by similar ones on TikTok and other social media platforms. When COVID-19 hit, I was stuck in my room day after day, and I couldn't let my creativity flow. I started new things, watched tons of tutorials, and stayed up for nights on end through many trials and errors. It helped me escape from things that were happening around me at the time, especially until about the beginning of 2022, when my grandmother passed and things got quite rough for me. I was able to escape to fursuit making. It helped me cope, but in a healthier way. I was able to put my mind onto something beneficial. I'm glad I can truly do what I dreamed of doing, and that there are so many people around me who support what I do.
For me, when I create the costumes, it's more than just a fursuit in the end. It's for my clients, I try to embed every small detail that I can into each part, all so that when they receive their pieces, it's exactly what they asked for. I know for a lot of people, when they create their characters/sonas, it's an escape or alternate from reality. A way for them to express themselves freely, despite things that may be going on in their lives. I think giving people the ability to stand out and be happy with who they are is important, and that having a fursuit (at least for me) can help give someone that sense of security they may not be able to have on their own. I am honored that my clients give me the ability to bring their characters to life, and enable them to be their best selves, in and out of suit.
Hey! I'm Raé, I brought up Pawzdownsuits as a way to express my love for art-making, push my abilities farther, and create fursuits for myself and others. Owning my own business makes it possible to work my own hours while also having control over how things are run. I work hard to create and manage my own site and promote my growing business since I started with fursuit-making in 2019.
I've always been an artsy person ever since I can remember, and now that I found something I'm good at and love to do, I want to create more to become the best I can be. I aspire to become a productive and successful full-time fursuit maker once I'm done with my schooling, but for now it's an enjoyable part-time that I'll do until then. Juggling my own business and school is tough, but I make do to the best of my abilities. The furry fandom provides me with a strong group of close friends that push me to be the best I can.
(oh also, I really love fashion)
I hope to provide everyone with a good experience when working with Pawzdownsuits! As always, if there are ever any questions please feel free to contact me!
